William J. Palmer - Chairman
Bill Palmer serves as a consulting CFO for Northwest-based business with CFO Selections. He joined CFO Selections in 2005 after a 20-year career in banking and finance. Within the middle-market lending groups at Bank of America and US Bank, he led groups that funded hundreds of companies in the Pacific Northwest. He is a proven senior-level executive with strong banking, financial, accounting, and business development skills. His experience runs across multiple industries with extensive expertise in structuring financial transactions.

Bill has held executive positions at Bank of America as senior vice president (SVP) Washington portfolio manager, SVP and senior products officer, SVP and client manager and assistant vice president, trade and relationship officer. As a banking officer, Bill sat on several client advisory boards and represented B of A in the local business community.

Bill graduated from the Pacific Coast Banking School in 1996 and earned his M.B.A. from Seattle University in 1991 after graduating with a degree in business administration from Gonzaga University. Bill's community involvement entails chairing both the finance and development committees for his church over the past eight years, and serving on the board of governors and as treasurer of the Newport Yacht Club. Bill lives in Newcastle with his wife and five children.


Joyce Lee, CPA - Treasurer
Joyce Lee is a principal at Clark Nuber, an award-winning CPA and consulting firm that has served the Northwest for more than five decades. As a CPA, she has served as controller of a large nonprofit organization and supervised financial accounting and reporting, external audits, and accounting software conversions. Joyce specializes in private and public foundations as well as complex accounting and auditing issues including endowments, planned giving, and consolidation of related entities.

Joyce is an active member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants. She has served as a past board member for the WSCPA and as secretary and treasurer for the Humane Society for Seattle/King County.

Despite beginning piano lessons at age 3, Joyce chose to crunch numbers instead of following in her parents' footsteps to become a classical musician. Despite her change in direction, her clients - all nonprofits - give her standing ovations for her insight and experience. Joyce lives in Sammamish with her husband and two children.


Bill Baldwin

Bill Baldwin is the founder and CEO of Baldwin Resource Group, Inc. (BRG), a diversified professional service company that provides business consulting, risk management, and insurance.  He has held a variety of positions, primarily in the insurance industry.
 
In addition to BRG, Bill has served as the president of Washington Policy Center, a nonprofit think tank.  He serves on community boards and committees for education at Seattle Pacific University and Washington State University.

Bill has lived in Washington since 1966, married for 32 years, two children and two grandchildren.


Scott Gerrapy
Scott Garrepy currently serves as the director of development - international programs for Washington State University. Prior to joining WSU he was a Principal at Newbridge Partners, a fundraising consulting firm based in Seattle. Over the past decade, Scott has also served as the director of business development for the INTIMAN Theatre and GreaterGood.com / The Hunger Site.

He is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals where he currently serves on the board of directors and is treasurer and director for the GreaterGood Foundation, and past vice president and director of the Spectrum Dance Theatre.

Scott is a guest speaker at University of Washington's Arts Management Certificate program and Seattle University's Nonprofit Management program. He earned his Bachelor of Arts, English Literature at the University of Florida. Scott lives with his wife Jennifer in Issaquah, WA.

 

Allison Peake Parker
Allison Peake ParkerAllison Parker is a philanthropic advisor with The Seattle Foundation. She has worked closely with the CFOS Foundation, since it was established as a donor advised fund at The Seattle Foundation in 2008, to help develop the framework for the CFOS Foundation's grantmaking.

Allison is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and has worked with nonprofit organizations in various capacities for more than 10 years. For the past five years at The Seattle Foundation, she has served as a program officer, scholarship program manager, and philanthropic advisor. She now dedicates her time to supporting philanthropic families, individuals, and companies.

In addition to the CFOS Foundation, she serves on the Shemanski Foundation Advisory Committee. Allison chaired the Washington Scholarship Coalition, a public-private partnership, when it developed and launched the online scholarship matching site www.theWashBoard.org. Previous roles include volunteering for the United Way of King County's 'Out of the Rain' impact council and working for U.S. Senator Patty Murray as Community Outreach Representative and Grants Coordinator.

Allison holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Certificate in Fundraising Management, both from the University of Washington. She lives in Ballard with her husband and son and enjoys spending time outdoors.


Sue Sander - Secretary
Sue Sander is currently the Business Development Director for the Infrastructure Unit of URS Washington Divison.  In addition, she was the former president of Shapiro and Associates, Inc., and was responsible for management and direction of the Northwest's largest environmental firm.  Her background encompassed studies in the fields of management, financial administration, marketing, and natural resources/planning studies.  Her involvement in a wide range of public and private sector projects includes: environmental management services, ecological restoration commercial/industrial and residential projects, and infrastructure/ transportation/ energy projects.  She is also currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Eastside Heritage Center and the NHS Alumni Association.

In addition, Sue has been listed in Who's Who in Finance, American Women, and Who's Who in the West.  Under Sue's direction, Shapiro and Associates was awarded Employer of the Year by Women in Transportation Seminar, Small Business Of the Year by the City of Seattle in the consultant category, Woman-Owned Business Enterprise of the Year by King County, and Sound Transit Employer of the Year.  She has also been awarded the Washington Business Person of the Year and US Business Person of the Year by the US Business Advisory Council.


Mimi Siegel
Mimi Siegel
Since 1978, Mimi Siegel has served as executive director of Kindering, a nonprofit neurodevelopmental center helping infants and children with special needs. Kindering is one of the largest and most comprehensive centers in the US; its work has been honored locally and nationally.

Mimi has published several articles regarding early intervention, therapeutic child care, and foster care. She is a founding member and past chairperson of the Early Childhood Development Association of Washington.  

Mimi chaired strategic planning and external relations efforts for the board of Amara.  She has served on the board of trustees of Intiman Theatre (Vice-President and Chair of Strategic Planning as well as on the Artistic Director Search Committee), and United Way of King County Eastside Community Council. She was also a member of the City of Bellevue Downtown Implementation Plan Community Advisory Council.   Mimi joined the board of Social Venture Partners in 2008.

Mimi is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin (BA history) and Case Western Reserve University (MA history).  She is married to Martin Siegel, MD, and has two adult children, Elizabeth and Marc.

 

Donald Summers
Donald SummersDonald Summers, Director of Altruist Partners LLC, is a business strategy and finance consultant with a diverse portfolio of clients in the social sector.  At the local and regional level, he helps a variety of nonprofit organizations in the arts, education, environment, and human service fields with business planning and ambitious revenue development goals.  Nationally and internationally, he develops and executes business strategy for leading nonprofits at the center of technology, manufacturing, transportation, and environmental reforms that directly engage the largest corporations, government agencies, institutions, and media outlets.
      
Donald is a graduate of Middlebury College and Harvard University and is a frequent speaker on nonprofit best practices and social sector innovation.  His essays, articles, and commentary have been published by the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Chronicle of Higher Education, and Harvard Magazine.

 

Thomas L. Varga
Tom Varga is the founder and managing partner of CFO Selections, a finance and accounting professional services firm headquartered in Bellevue WA. Prior to founding CFO Selections in 2002, Tom served as president of 1NService, Inc. a national alliance of network technology and security companies. He has also held COO and CFO positions for Northwest Nexus and Peopleware, in Bellevue.

In addition to his board work with the CFOS foundation, he serves on the board of The Mountaineers, a local group with a mission to enrich the community by helping people explore, conserve, learn about, and enjoy the lands and waters of the Pacific Northwest.  He has also formerly been a director of Spiritwood Assisted Living, a director and treasurer of the Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Association, a board member of the finance committee of Seattle SCORES, a director and treasurer of the Northwest Student Exchange (a nonprofit international high school exchange organization), and a finance committee member at the Bellevue Arts Museum.  In 2009, he was a finalist in the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Program for the Pacific Northwest.

Tom grew up in Cleveland, where he was raised by Hungarian immigrant parents. He earned his BS degree in Business Finance from John Carroll University in Cleveland and his MBA from the University of Notre Dame. Tom moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1994 and lives in Seattle, where he enjoys mountain climbing and teaching mountaineering.
