Dan is a seasoned financial executive with over 35 years of blended business experience in public accounting and industry. Areas of expertise include analysis and problem solving, information reporting and discussion, collaborative business planning and implementation, budgets and financial modeling, and cross functional team leadership and executive management participation.
Dan began his career auditing hospitals at Arthur Andersen, and most recently served as the controller for Zapproved. At Zapproved, he moved accounting from cash to accrual method, converted the company accounting software, and negotiated customer contracts. At Precision Wire Components, Dan managed the ERP system to provide more effective variance reporting to private equity owners. At Creative Artists Agency, he introduced and integrated an accounting program for a new company division. At National Genetics Institute, Dan provided financial modeling supporting sale of the corporation to a NYSE company.
Dan holds a BA from UC San Diego and a MBA from San Diego State University, and is a CPA-Inactive (California). He has been active in the Portland community, previously serving as chair of the financial resources committee at Oregon Bioscience Association, business plan review and guidance program at Oregon Entrepreneurs Network, and business launch mentoring program at Portland State University.
