Lee Harper
Lee is a passionate and dedicated nonprofit executive with 25 years of leadership experience in the nonprofit sector. She has outstanding financial management skills for multi-million dollar organizations; demonstrated strength in forging community partnerships and developing and sustaining positive relationships; a strong aptitude for thinking systematically, addressing issues creatively, and translating ideas into advocacy and action; and is a respected leader with exceptional communication, management, and interpersonal skills who excels at creating a culture of partnership and shared power.
Most recently, she was the Executive Director at the Kitsap Humane Society, (operating budget - $4.7 million, 70 staff, 325 volunteers). Prior to this, she was the Executive Director for eleven years at the Phinney Neighborhood Association (operating budget, $4 million, 80 staff, 1,000 volunteers). At both organizations, she provided strategic leadership and worked closely with the Board of Directors to ensure the ongoing growth and economic sustainability of the organizations.
Lee began her career as a tax accountant, with a focus on individuals and partnerships. She holds a Master of Nonprofit Leadership from Seattle University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Colorado.
