The Adoptee Mentoring Society provides compassionate, virtual mentorship to adopted and former foster youth — connecting them with mentors who share their lived experience. Based in Seattle, AMS centers the voices and agency of adoptees, helping them navigate questions of identity, belonging, and resilience. Through immersive mentor training, ongoing coaching, and trauma-informed curriculum, AMS equips mentors to offer the kind of support that only someone who has truly been there can provide.

Bridge Meadows is an intergenerational community that brings together youth who have experienced foster care, their families, and older adults to create stability, connection, and long-term belonging. Through affordable housing, wraparound support, and a model rooted in mutual care, Bridge Meadows helps children heal, families thrive, and elders find renewed purpose. Their communities in Portland, Beaverton, and Redmond demonstrate how shared resilience can transform lives and strengthen neighborhoods.

Family Education & Support Services strengthens families in Washington state through education, advocacy, and direct support — with a dedicated focus on kinship caregivers who are raising children in their extended family or community networks. Their Kinship Care Program provides training, resources, and connection to families who are often navigating a complex system with little guidance and limited support. Based in Tumwater, FESS ensures that kinship caregivers have what they need to offer the stability and belonging every child deserves.

Fostering Hope Foundation wraps foster families and children in Colorado Springs in the practical support and human connection that help them thrive. Through holistic, wraparound services — from basic needs assistance to community volunteer programs — they ensure that children and families in care never feel alone. Their model is built on the belief that it takes a whole community to support a child, and they work to mobilize that community every day.

Kindering provides life-changing early intervention, therapies, and family support for children with diverse abilities from birth through age 10. Through Early Support services, developmental therapies, early learning programs, and wraparound family resources, Kindering helps narrow developmental gaps and strengthens the whole family. With campuses across Bellevue, Bothell, Redmond, and Renton, they ensure every child — regardless of ability, income, or circumstance — has the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive. Kindering’s CHERISH program helps infants and toddlers in foster care and trains foster parents to respond to the needs of traumatized children. CFO Selections awarded a three-year, $100,000 grant to help the CHERISH program grow.

Project 1.27 exists to ensure every child in Colorado grows up in a nurturing, well-supported family. Based in Aurora, they engage faith communities — churches, volunteers, and families — to step into the foster and kinship care system with training, practical resources, and ongoing support. From pre-certification foster parent training to mental wellness groups, resource distribution, and teen programming, Project 1.27 meets families at every stage of the journey. Their placement disruption rate of around 4% reflects the depth and quality of that support.

Project Lemonade believes every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive — and that belief has driven their work alongside more than 28,000 youth impacted by foster care across Oregon and SW Washington since 2012. Through free clothing, workforce internships, scholarships, mentorship, and small grants for after-school experiences, they walk alongside youth from kindergarten through college and career. Project Lemonade meets young people where they are, offering the dignity, resources, and consistent relationships that help them move from surviving to stability to thriving.

Treehouse advances educational equity for youth in foster care across Washington state, providing the coaching, advocacy, and practical resources that help students stay in school and build toward a future. As the only nonprofit in Washington focused specifically on the educational and material needs of youth in foster care, Treehouse works directly with young people across more than 1,100 schools — monitoring progress, removing barriers, and walking alongside students through high school and into the transition to independence. In the decade since their Graduation Success program launched, the statewide graduation rate for youth in care has grown from 36% to 51%.
