CFO Selections has formed a long-term partnership with Laird Norton Company, one of the oldest family-owned enterprises in the United States. Laird Norton has made a minority investment in the firm to support our continued growth and mission.
Laird Norton Company is a diversified, family-owned enterprise headquartered in Seattle. Family-owned for eight generations, they trace their origins to 1855. They take a patient, long-term approach to investing; they have no fund lifecycle, no predetermined exit timeline, and no interest in short-term financial engineering. We chose them as a partner because their values and approach mirror our own.
Since Tom Varga founded CFO Selections in 2002, the firm has been built on a straightforward belief: that growing companies and nonprofits deserve the same caliber of financial leadership that large organizations take for granted. Nearly a quarter century later, we serve clients across Washington, Oregon, Colorado, and Texas through a team of nearly 350 seasoned financial executives and professionals across CFO Selections, ASP, and Valtas Group. This partnership strengthens that mission.
Nothing about how we serve clients is changing. Our leadership, our partners, and our consultants remain focused on delivering hands-on financial leadership across all four states. What this partnership gives us is more room to grow: more capacity to attract exceptional financial talent, more resources to invest in our people and operations, and the long-term stability to keep building a firm where experienced professionals do their best work for the clients who need it most.
Our community commitments remain as strong as ever, including the work of the CFOS Foundation supporting youth and families in foster and kinship care, which has been part of who we are since 2007.
We’re proud of what this firm has built over 24 years, and we’re confident this partnership makes it stronger.
