Chris Nelson
Chris is a fractional CFO with over 20 years of experience as a finance professional. Chris has served as an outsourced CFO to clients in the SaaS software, telecom, and learning management with a recent emphasis on startups.
Prior to joining CFO Selections, Chris was the CFO of Tovuti, a Software as a Service (SaaS) global learning management system. During his tenure, he helped the business achieve multiple years of 100% growth, raise capital through venture debt and equity, and install the financial metrics necessary for the business to identify areas for improvement as it scaled.
Chris started his accounting career as a Staff Accountant with a startup in Boulder, CO and worked his way up through the ranks as an Accounting Manager, Business Unit Controller, Director of Finance, Controller, VP Finance, and CFO. These roles were held at public, venture capital backed, and private equity backed companies, primarily in the software industry.
Chris received an MBA from Regis University and a BS in Business Administration from Colorado State University.
When not helping clients make financial decisions, Chris can be found traveling to National Parks with his family or at home in Colorado smoking meat and watching hockey.
