David Croom
David is an executive management leader and entrepreneur with broad experience in multiple business processes and across several different sectors. He has leveraged 30+ years’ experience in both large and small companies that provides a unique perspective in how they function. Through fractional and interim roles, he’s been effective at navigating all the regulatory, financial, and personnel related issues that arise. This allows David to be uniquely positioned to operate effectively across all levels of management and external teams.
Prior positions in public companies included roles as CFO of two publicly traded cannabis companies, working closely with all levels of internal and external management teams to drive business results. Prior to active business operations and advisory roles, he held senior finance roles at supercomputer maker Cray Inc, Drugstore.com Inc and four years at Microsoft Corp in various roles including US Sales, MSN and Corporate Accounting. His early career started with a decade at Chevron Corporation, in the Comptrollers Department, Internal Audit and US Refinery Operations.
In prior engagements as a fractional executive, advisor and investor, David has extensive experience in business sectors such as, Oil & Gas, Cybersecurity, legal and business consulting in Professional Services, Health & Wellness product lines, Restaurants, Hotel & Spa management, Law firm operations, Network Systems, Supercomputing, Asphalt/Road repair services, Film financing, Security services, Children’s toy production & distribution, Retail store operations, Car rideshare services, robotaxi/EV maintenance, and Food processing.
David is currently located in the Dallas/Fort Worth Texas area and open to roles across the state as well as remote engagements, with on-site travel as needed across the country.
He holds an accounting degree from Washington State University and is a Certified Internal Auditor. Additional interests include racquetball, pickleball, handball, golf and skiing.
