Brian Doran
Brian is an accomplished finance executive recognized for his collaborative leadership style, which fosters teamwork and alignment across all organizational levels to formulate strategies that drive tangible results. His extensive professional experience spans strategic and long-range planning, financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, risk management, budget modeling, legal contract review, cash flow management, forecasting, and the leadership of operational teams and initiatives. Brian has also demonstrated excellence in succession planning by successfully recruiting and onboarding CFO successors at two distinct organizations, effectively bridging critical financial, operational, and administrative transitions.
In his role as a fractional CFO, interim executive, and project-based consultant, Brian thrives in partnering with diverse organizations to achieve both immediate impact and sustained success. His strategic acumen enables him to identify and implement revenue enhancement strategies, expense reduction initiatives, scenario planning frameworks, and operational improvements. Prior to joining CFO Selections, Brian served over two decades as CFO across two nonprofit organizations and two tech startups, where he consistently delivered organizational growth and efficiency.
Brian brings valuable cultural awareness and sensitivity derived from extensive international experience, having worked across 10 countries as well as numerous states within the United States. This global perspective enriches his strategic insights and enables him to effectively navigate diverse organizational environments.
Brian earned his MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. Outside of his professional endeavors, he enjoys traveling, engaging in outdoor activities, and coaching girls' softball.
