Robin has nearly 20 years of experience leading and advising mission-driven businesses and nonprofit organizations on matters of finance and capital.
Most recently, Robin was the Executive Director of Ascent Funding, a nonprofit community development financial institution that provided capital and advisory services to entrepreneurs unable to secure bank financing. In that capacity, he secured and deployed the capital and oversaw the finances, treasury, forecasting, budgeting, accounting, reporting, and operations of a $3M loan fund prior to its acquisition. He also launched advisory programs to help entrepreneurs improve their ability to manage their finances and secure capital. Prior to his time at Ascent, Robin was the co-owner of a self-funded environmental media company where he was responsible for scaling the finances, IT, HR, payroll, and operations of an organization with over 1,200 clients and 20 employees in three markets.
Robin holds both Bachelors and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and Columbia University, respectively. He has also received an Executive Education certificate from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. Robin presently serves on the Grant Committee of the Portland Clean Energy Fund and the Council of Economic and Racial Equity at Prosper Portland. When not looking at spreadsheets, Robin enjoys growing food in his garden, cooking, biking, and photography.
