    Ryan Baer is a versatile finance and operations professional with over 20 years' experience spanning corporate finance, securities and banking, project leadership, and academic finance.  The majority of his work has materialized at the nexus of finance and operations, where he has led a multitude of projects to implement process improvement with the objectives of increasing efficiency and control.  Through various roles, he has had direct responsibility for the management of billions of dollars in public and private investments, and has led projects impacting thousands of employees and clients.  Over the course of his career, he has served as a fiduciary in both corporate finance and investment management and held positions in four highly regulated industries.

    His career began during undergraduate studies where he supported finance faculty with academic research, administration and lecture material preparation.  During this time, he conducted research contributing to articles published in the Journal of Finance and Journal of Financial Economics.  While completing his studies he joined Morgan Stanley for a year-long internship.

    Upon graduation, Ryan secured employment with J.P. Morgan, where he completed both Financial Analyst and Investment Associate training programs.  His roles included advisory, investment portfolio management and project leadership for global equities.  Later, he joined E*Trade Financial where he led efforts for investor education on trading strategies, managed accounts and asset classes, with a focus on equities, fixed income and currency.  He then relocated from New York City to the Pacific Northwest, where he has held a variety of finance and operations leadership roles in private businesses, ascending to CFO of a real estate management and development firm.

    Ryan is a proud Miami Hurricane, holding a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Miami, with a focus on finance and accounting.  His professional interests include the intersection of corporate and personal wealth, behavioral finance and financial modeling, and he has an expertise in the management of concentrated positions.  Outside of work, you will find him exploring the wilds of the Pacific Northwest, appreciating all forms of food and art, studying Eastern philosophy and being a champion for financial literacy.
