Greg Arend
Greg has over 30 years of experience in growing consumer packaged goods (CPG), manufacturing, and service businesses in the Pacific Northwest. He thrives in fast-paced environments as a key member of cross-functional management teams collaborating with Board members and working directly with CEOs to develop meaningful key performance indicators and metrics to improve company valuations.
After Greg began his financial management career as Controller for TPA of Washington, a third-party administrator for self-insured companies, he moved to the food business 28 years ago as the US Controller for Fletcher’s Fine Foods. Fletcher’s was the legacy company for Premium Brands Holdings Company, and it was there that Greg met the soon-to-be Premium Brands Team. Premium Brands owns more than sixty-eight food brands in Canada and the US. In fact, Premium Brands owns two of the companies that Greg has worked for (Isernio’s Sausage Company and King’s Command Foods, Ohio). After Fletcher’s Greg joined King’s Command Foods as the Controller and was subsequently promoted to VP of Finance and then CFO. While there Greg and the rest of the management team drove a 300% increase in EBITDA.
Driven by Greg’s ability to develop cross-functional teams and improve businesses, the Premium Brands Team promoted him from Controller of Isernio’s to Consulting General Manager of Partner’s Crackers and then to CFO of a northwest icon, “Oh Boy Oberto” Beef Jerky Company.
Based on Greg’s extensive diversity in different industries and his ability to spearhead cross-functional teams to improve company valuations he decided to join CFO Selections so he can more fully utilize those skills and help more companies.
Greg holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with an Accounting concentration from the University of Washington. He is a Seattle native, residing in Renton, Washington with his wife. Close to empty nesters now, they enjoy traveling and spending time at their summer place on the water in Poulsbo. They are both avid anglers and on most weekends from July to September, you will find them on Puget Sound fishing and crabbing with family, friends, vendors, customers, and clients.
