James Laing
Jim is a dynamic cross-functional leader, collaborator, and executive advisor with a strong “business partnering” focus who instills shared vision and purpose in alignment with robust business goals and objectives. His industry focus has been in manufacturing and distribution, dealership management and several bio-technology sectors. Jim has had the privilege of working in Canada for over 25 years and recently returned to home in 2017 to continue his professional career in the Pacific Northwest where he grew up.
Most recently Jim was the Regional Controller at Lundberg, LLC dba LDX Solutions, a private equity owned engineering and design firm that designs and builds pollution control systems for the Pulp & Paper and Air Pollution Control industries. While there Jim successfully upgraded the ERP system and helped manage the company’s migration through COVID via remote working that enabled the Pacific Northwest Office to remain open. Prior to that role he was the Director of Finance at Vioguard Inc., a venture capital backed start-up in the medical device industry. Prior to his role at Vioguard Inc. Jim worked in several manufacturing and distribution companies and equipment dealerships in the Toronto, ON area for over 20 years.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Clarkson University, a CPA license from the State of Maine and an MBA from Concordia University in Montreal, QC. Jim and his wife live in the Montlake area of Seattle where they enjoy tennis and pickleball at the Seattle Tennis Club and travelling as much as possible. Jim still enjoys playing ice hockey on a weekly basis.
