Maria Valdenegro
Maria is a passionate finance and accounting professional with over 20 years of success in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, with 15+ years as a CFO. She excels in budgeting, financial reporting and analysis, leadership development, and operational assessments. She is adept at presenting financial reports, ensuring her audience understands the story behind the numbers. She has mentored many non-finance leaders, helping them to understand the key drivers of their business and/or department and how to effectively manage them. As an interim CFO, she helped interview and select the best candidates for permanent placement, providing detailed notes and recommendations.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and an MBA, both from the University of Maryland. In her spare time, she enjoys nature and the outdoors, whether birding, hiking, or lounging at the beach. She has a large military family (go Army!), and loves to travel and does so often, domestically and internationally. Live music is a favorite pastime, so she attends concerts and festivals regularly.
