Kurt is a highly experienced and skilled financial and overall business management executive for professional service firms. As both an attorney and CPA, with thirty years in law firm management, he is able to effectively communicate, navigate, and lead consensus among firm principals toward a common strategic direction. In addition, he possesses strong accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting abilities.

Kurt began his financial career in public accounting for seven years with a large international firm followed by a partner position in a small CPA firm. Subsequently in 1993, he began his law firm management career as the Financial Manager at Betts, Patterson & Mines, an established mid-size Seattle law firm. His positions have since included Executive Director, Firm Administrator, and CFO for three firms ranging in size from ten to fifty lawyers. Kurt is particularly well-versed and has significant hands-on experience with partner/principal compensation systems design and decisions. He has presented often on this highly important and sensitive professional service firm management subject to attorney and CPA groups with his program titled "Compensation Systems for CPA and Law Firm Partners: How to Split the Profit Pie." Kurt also has had extensive involvement with the recruiting and hiring of firm professionals.

Kurt holds a Juris Doctor degree from the Seattle University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration (Accounting) from the University of Puget Sound and is an actively licensed Washington State CPA. Kurt and his family reside in Bellevue, Washington. He is a passionate snow skier along with an interest in vintage diesel locomotives.
