Tom Weddle

Tom-Weddle-headshotAfter attending school at Washington State University, Tom began his career in the Portland office of Isler & Company, a regional CPA firm with four offices in Oregon. At Isler & Company, Tom built a foundation of knowledge through conducting audits, reviews, and compilations for corporations and partnerships of all sizes and across many industries. He also worked on countless personal and corporate tax returns.

Tom left public accounting and took a position with Dark Horse Comics as the Corporate Controller. In less than a year he earned his promotion to Vice President of Finance driven by his strong ability to evaluate internal controls, analyze data and present recommendations to management. Tom took on greater responsibility and maintained high level reporting to stakeholders as he streamlined reporting processes to aid Dark Horse’s continued growth and expansion. He was promoted in 2004 to Chief Financial Officer of Dark Horse and all related companies.

As Chief Financial Officer, Tom handled all aspects of financial management, treasury, accounting, Human Resources, payroll and legal. He oversaw internal controls, advised upper management and key stakeholders on financial matters, and outlined operational processes and financial ramifications of company decisions. Tom oversaw financial and capital budgeting processes and regularly reported financial outcomes to budget and key performance indicators. He reviewed and monitored monthly and quarterly reporting requirements for internal and external purposes. Further, Tom coached all department heads to be proactive, and results driven.

In addition to coaching executive team members, he continues to mentor individuals and couples within his community to become financially independent. Tom enjoys coaching companies of all sizes with fractional or part-time projects to help work through issues on an interim basis. Tom also uses his skill set on the Board of a local non-profit that helps the houseless.

Tom spends most of his free time with his family, church community, and friends. While the Portland Trail Blazers, Oregon Ducks, Dallas Cowboys, and NY Yankees are particularly important to him, they all come in second to Formula 1 racing. Tom has been combining 20 years of coaching sports with his professional experience to make financial coaching a new love.
