BELLEVUE , WA – CFO Selections has been named the fourth best small company to work for in Washington State according to a survey by Washington CEO Magazine and Hebert Research Inc.

The 12,772 employees who anonymously rated their companies for this year’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” generally rated their companies highly. Consequently, to make it into the top 100, companies had to receive high scores from their employees in virtually every one of 10 categories, from hiring and retention to corporate culture and leadership. They also had to receive high evaluations from five expert judges. A few companies weren’t eligible because they couldn’t meet the tough standards for the survey. For a small-size company (2-99 employees) to be considered, for example, at least 80% of the employees had to fill out the 54-question survey conducted by Hebert Research Inc.

The survey produced some interesting trends. For example, higher-ranking employees tended to give better ratings to their employers. Employee ratings tended to be higher among smaller companies than larger companies. Each employee is asked to take part in a survey.    It is an opportunity for the employee to express opinions about the range of topics covered in the survey.   The company then receives a report card that details how they have scored on various topics. Participants use the results as a way to listen to employee needs and identify positive opportunities for the future.

This was the 17th year Washington CEO Magazine has recognized workplace excellence in its annual “Best Companies” issue and during a celebration dinner which was held on June 28th at the Washington State Conventions Center.
